WPA Posters - For the People by the People

If you don't know anything about the WPA, you should. Here's the LOC page for more info. LOC+WPAThe most amazing posters for the most ordinary things. I think the Hiking one is my favorite. I wouldn't mind a little govt funded screen print program these days.

Hamlet Screen Print

If you're around Springfield you should come check out the Springfield Stageworks Production of Hamlet April 23-25, 30 or May 1+2. Should be really good. I design all of the promotions for Stageworks and designed this limited edition screen printed poster that will be available for sale at the show for a bargain basement price. There will only be 50 available signed and numbered by yours truly. The production will take place at the State Theatre here in Springfield. Which Coincidentally may be the new HQ of Hucklebuck. Hope to see you there.

Ex Wex

I am a part of a unique fraternity of sorts that I like to call the Ex Wex. The Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, OH is one of the greatest institutions for all aspects of Art that we have in our state. I had the chance to intern there in 2000-2001 doing mostly film/Video promotions and so on. There are a select number of people who have all put their time in at the Wex and all are pretty amazing designers now in their own right. These are a few of my favorite pieces that I did during my time. Again, this was like 9 years ago. That's OS 9 yall - keepin it old skool

Uloric Ad Layouts

A few conceptual ad layouts I worked on during my time with GSW Worldwide. For Uloric, a Gout treatment. Try coming up with a good looking ad that has to advertise Gout treatment and include a little green submarine.

Moving History

Like many of you, I dread the idea of moving. Especially at this point in my life after amassing so much stuff. I have moved probaby 20-25 times so far. Many of them cross town moves when I was a child. I put this little image together to track my main living places over the past 30 years.

Meeting Chip Kidd

While my former business partner and I were kickin it back in the day with the Former Factory Design Co™, we had the opportunity to meet Chip Kidd in his office in Manhattan. Great guy. We had just come off of the Express Hang Tag project which Chip had also been comissioned. We met him the night before at the artist reception party and he invited us to drop by. Old pic, this was back in 03.

Impending Hucklebuck Font Studio

I am working on a type design co., once the name and branding are done I'll post the site. For now here is my latest type creation. The font studio will focus on the extraction of existing typography from our environment and extending the found characters into a True Type display alphabet. This first sample was extracted from this page that I found in an old model airplane magazine. The characters are a bit familiar, but truly unique and totally vintage.

I haven't made an actual True type font from these yet, but to download the vector set of these characters control click here
